The Recorder of Deeds office takes marriage license applications, issues marriage licenses, files the license after the marriage and maintains a permanent record of the marriage.  
The Recorder of Deeds also maintains the records of land in the County.   The Recorder does not create documents.  The office records deeds that have been created by an attorney or abstract/title company.
